Inside the book, you will find:
I dream that every one of our kids grows up to be successful individuals who are proud of their Muslim identity and evolve into true gems of society. To manifest that dream, our Muslim kids require our help to navigate through these crazy yet incredible times that we live. We are going through a profound era of advancement in many frontiers, like never before. This progress comes with the price of scrambling through many distractions to find and choose the right course of action. In parallel to many contributors endeavoring to establish Muslim representation, I want to put forth my effort to help our Muslim kids and youth find their identity.
Since my high school years, I have been an educator in the Islamic space in various capacities. I began as a Sunday School teacher. Later, I worked with teenagers as a youth coordinator. In recent days, I took up roles such as a Summer camp teacher, an Islamic storyteller, and a children’s mentor and guide in Quran studies. Most importantly, as a mother to my amazing kids, I have come to appreciate the intricate minds of young children and the many things they have to deal with daily.
I often think of what The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us about the seven types of people who will be shaded by Allah on the Day of Judgement when there will be no other shade. One of those seven categories is the youth who grew up in the worship of Allah. (Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 660, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1031).
It is a cause worth striving to guide our youth to secure Allah’s Mercy on a day when there will be no other shade.
